Our Rodent Control Process
DANCAN Pest Control will apply metal flashing or wire and caulk to prevent mice, rats, and squirrels from entering your home. We will do it in a manner that is satisfactory to you by breaking it down into three main stages:
- Stage 1: A friendly and knowledgeable rodent exclusion expert will visit your home. Our technician will place rodent bait stations and snap traps in strategic locations around the property and in the attic to help take care of any rodents that are already present. Your technician will also collect a paint color sample from the exterior of your home for use in Stage 2.
- Stage 2: The following week, your Dallas Fort Worth rodent exclusion expert will arrive to seal off weak spots and possible entry points around your home using metal flashing, metal mesh, and concrete caulk, ensuring rodents cannot enter your home. After installation, the exclusion expert will paint over these spots using the paint sample collected in Stage 1 to match your home's color. Also, on this visit, your rodent bait stations and snap traps will be checked, refilled, and reset if necessary. With DANCAN's discretion, they may decide that the bait stations and snap traps are no longer necessary.
- Stage 3: If necessary, our exclusion expert will return to check, refill, and reset any bait stations and snap traps placed around and in your home.

Our Rodent Control Warranty
If your one-time rodent exclusion service is bundled with quarterly or monthly rodent or general pest control services, the warranty on this exclusion is good for as long as you receive active service with DANCAN Pest Control. If the one-time exclusion is a stand-alone service, the warranty is good for twelve months from the first stage of treatment.
Please note that this warranty is only valid for rodent and wildlife damage. This service does not cover the cost of removing wildlife such as raccoons from the home.
Problems House Mice Can Cause
A mouse problem is one of the last things any homeowner wants to deal with in and around his home. House mice can threaten your property and your health. They are known to spread diseases, such as salmonellosis, dysentery, leptospirosis, and lymphocytic choriomeningitis.
These mice nest in hidden, isolated areas and typically choose a place where they will not be easily disturbed. When choosing a nesting location, these rodents also seek out areas near readily available sources of nesting materials such as insulation, cotton, and string. House mice don't go far when foraging for food, preferring to keep their food sources within about 20 feet of their nests. House mice are typically the most active at dusk and just before the dawn of each day.
As house mice seek nourishment, they leave behind urine and feces, contaminating food and water sources throughout the homes they have invaded. These mice need to chew constantly to keep their incisors at an appropriate length, and this chewing often results in holes in walls, pipes, and wires. Damage like this can welcome other pests into your home. Water damage may occur due to leaks. Your home may be at a greater risk for fire due to frayed wires that randomly create a spark.
